Brother Joe Haddock

It having pleased our Heavenly Father to take from us a faithful and distinguished member of East Trinity Masonic Lodge No. 157, Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons.

Brother Haddock was born on December 23, 1937, and passed from our earthly fellowship on December 1, 2007. He was initiated on October 25, 1965, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on December 27, 1965, and was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on January 28, 1966. Brother Haddock served a Worshipful Master from June, 1994 to June, 1995, and served as the District Deputy Grand Master of the 13th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Texas in 2005. East Trinity awarded Brother Haddock the Golden Trowel Award in 2002.

The Lord allotted to our Brother more than the average span of years for his earthly pursuits, and he endeavored as a man and as a Mason to exemplify in this life and actions, faithful obedience to the basic tenets of Masonry, Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth.

He patterned his life after the cardinal virtues of temperance, fortitude, prudence and justice. We are confident that the soul of our departed brother has been translated from this imperfect to that all glorious and celestial Lodge above where the Supreme Architect of the Universe presides.

Truly, it is said, “that to live in hearts we leave behind is not to die”. Our Brother is not dead, but lives and serves. His life, his example, and his deeds live on in spirit and in the hearts of all who knew him.

We, the brethren, sorrow because of our loss in his passing, but we rejoice in the faith his spirit returned to God who gave it, there to enjoy eternal life.
